I first handled clay as a child growing up in Bendigo. I discovered the feel, the malleability of clay.

I reconnected with clay as a young adult and began to learn how to work with clay to make forms and vessels using hand building and the potters' wheel. During this time I obtained a kiln and workshop space, attended workshops and classes and began to sell some work.
I enjoy the challenge of pushing the medium to its limits in both construction and firing. There are always new discoveries to be made in methods of construction, glaze variability and atmospheric effects.

At present I am using my skills to create work that reflects feelings about human interaction with technology and the speed of change that is affecting us all.

The raku fired pieces are inspired by the interior landscape of Australia. I have tried to capture the colours and feeling of the desert and the horizon in the distance.
