Annette Fitton

Once upon a time Annette Fitton worked for MGT, Architects for New Parliament House, Canberra, studied fine furniture making at Carl Malmstens Verstadskola, Stockholm and worked as an architectural model maker for Arup Associates, London.

Now emerging from the fug of fulltime motherhood backed by an almost antique degree in Industrial Design, manual dexterity and a love of colour, Annette designs and sews adorable and practical dolls using new and recycled cotton corduroy. Dolly & friends is a range of deceptively simple characters which includes sleeping babies, toddlers, boys and girls, cats, chooks, teddy bears and elephants.

Through her craft based design business Nini & Wink, Annette, aka Nini, intends to pursue her passion to design and make functional and attractive things. She aims to expand her scope from greeting cards, cardigans and corduroy toys to wall clocks, upholstered furniture and giraffe sized sculpture for gardens.
