Carly Altree-Williams

Carly is a Melbourne based textile artist who graduated from the Canberra School of Art Textiles Workshop in 2005. Primarily she likes to use techniques of machine embroidery, collage, stitching, cutting, beading and stop motion animation film. She is greatly interested in colour, pattern and reusing found fabrics in a new way.

Inspiration is drawn from themes and ideas of collage, the bizarre, the fantastic, escapism, unreality, narrative, fairy tales, art of deception, naïve art, 1950’s Sci-fi films, stop motion animation films, children’s film and television, the classic era of silent cinema and music.
