This hand carved, sculptural work by Jill Symes was created as part of the NGV 150th Anniversary product brief. For the brief National Gallery of Victoria Shop and Craft Victoria's New Craft project combined to create a range of products to celebrate the 150 Years of Melbourne's oldest arts instituiton.

Jill Symes' Pony references the presence of the horse in the NGV collection and its historical place in mythology, art and life. It is a limited edition piece made from high-fired earthenware with a glossy luminescent white glaze.
