Sarah Deed

Sarah Deed is Melbourne based artist living in the mash of suburbia with her partner, three children and other furry creatures all of which are subjects of her practice. Her focus is on what it feels like to be a flesh and blood being who lives and breathes inside the boundaries of contemporary society and how with the highs and lows of everyday life, we experience the world as unique individuals. Sarah has maintained a successful graphic design practice since 1987 and has recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Art in Sculpture at RMIT University and Honours in 2009. Her current work incorporates drawing, sculpture and installation in mediums as diverse as cast bronze and aluminium, ink, charcoal, clay, plaster, wax and wood or sometimes sewn fabrics... the medium is a way of thinking... an exploration of all that is that human.
