Golden Ink are a collaborative duo from Melbourne consisting of Abby Seymour, a printmaker, and Katherine Wheeler, a gold and silversmith. Together they create bespoke jewellery and home wares made from hand-painted porcelain and silver, each imbued with subtle detail and tactility.
Golden Ink's work is now showing in the Craft Victoria Window Space, at 31 Flinders Lane Melbourne, until 4 February 2012.
Katherine Wheeler works in an organic and spontaneous fashion; she is fascinated by the correlation between object and memory. Abby Seymour approaches her work in a more planned manner, and her focus on decoration is inspired by portraiture and adornment. Together, through Golden Ink, the pair have committed themselves to creating finely-detailed, one-off pieces, and already we are seeing that their work is becoming widely sought after.
