“When I am making, I explore my instinctive sense of unity with the natural world and the spirit of the land in which I live. Using clay as my medium brings me into direct and elemental contact with my environment. It is a primal and sensory form of conversation.

"Creating shape and surface is an interactive process: with my touch I express my humanity and, in the clay and minerals I use, the earth reveals itself. My intention is that you see and feel the earth in these vessels, that with their use, they become a place of connection to the land from which they are made.”

Kathleen completed a Diploma of Arts Ceramics at the School of Mines University of Ballarat and was a finalist in the Phillipo Raphael Fresh! Awards at Craft Victoria in 2007 and continues to develop her exhibition and production range of stoneware ceramics.
