Sandra Eterovic has a fear of blank white canvases. Instead she paints people and other creatures onto wood and then cuts them out. She is busily sawing an entire town of real beings that will watch over you, tell you the time, or even look after your clothes. She also paints little objects onto mirrors so that the person looking into them can become part of the picture too.
Eterovic studied art history at the University of Melbourne. She then worked for fifteen years as a textile and graphic designer in the fashion industry, most recently for the children's brand Seed. Her current range includes greeting cards, prints, paper cubes, stickers, wooden objects and mirrors featuring hand painted illustrations. She also makes both woven and fair isle scarves and relaxes by knitting swear words into multi coloured cushions and vests.
