I'll Show You My Craft If You Show Me Yours is a collaborative project designed to bring together practitioners from different disciplines to share processes, materials, and ideas. This year two new sets of artists combine their skills: Tessa Blazey and Alexi Freeman; and Maryann Talia-Pau and Emma Greenwood.

Utilising their expertise in jewellery and fashion design, Tessa and Alexi present Interstellar Gown – a new garment form constructed from approximately 600 metres of gold plated chain and 6000 jump rings. Interstellar Gown is a meticulously embellished work, evoking unseen galaxies, star clusters, constellations and nebula; suggestive of an imagined artefact; a remnant of a visitation from a cosmic being.

Meanwhile Maryann and Emma present Regal Savage, a range of garments and accessories combining Maryann's weaving skills and Emma's extensive knowledge in shoe-making. Using cultural identity as a starting point for their collaboration, Regal Savage imagines a new kind of 'hybrid' couture.

Work in I'll Show You My Craft If You Show Me Yours is also featured in Gallery 3 at Craft Victoria, where we will host talks by the participating artists on Saturday 6 August and at Saturday 3 September.
