Inspired by a research trip to Kyrgyzstan, Lori Kirk’s sculptural installation explores the terrain between craft and mass produced kitsch.

Kirk has created a multifarious installation using a range of techniques including clay casting, modelling, embroidery, wood-work and fabric design. Combining the Australian koala with the native red wolf from Kyrgyzstan, this exhibition examines the socio-cultural dimensions of aesthetic production.

Opening Thursday 29 April, 6pm
To be opened by Nick Vickers, Coordinator of Alumni Relations, UNSW Collage of Fine Arts.

Biography
